Hunting season
While Minnesota's hunting season has just begun, Wisconsin has to wait two more weeks. Between work and school, I haven't been able to spend as much time in the woods as I would like. My dad and brother have been doing most of the preparations this year out at our little hunting shack. Its only about as big as my living room, and the only insulation is the wood and tar-paper that its wrapped in. As long as you keep the fire going, its really not that bad. Sometimes we have to open the doors and windows to let the heat out if the fire really gets going.

Winter home preparations
Blocking the entrance to what is referred to as the "basement", its more of a root cellar/crawl space, to keep the cold winter air was this weekends task. The doorway is similar to what you might see for a tornado shelter, doorway nearly horizontal, get a tarp over it and hay is piled on. The well and septic get a similar covering also.🤞that I don't have any frozen pipes or backed up septic this winter.
