So far I have installed a new WordPress installation for the final project website. I currently have 7 pages, including a Blog where users can post a comment. I have the menu built, although I do not have a submenu for anything yet. The header is pretty much done, but I think I want to add a logo.
Most of the copy is what my mom has pulled together as she has been doing her own research over the years. It is currently only semi organized and will likely need to be condensed as some things repeat. I need to make sure I am using a couple different heading levels, play with color and fonts to insure I hit all the rubric requirements.
I have the color scheme picked out and uploaded some images. I need to upload more pictures and at least one video and get the alternate text added.
The Additional Resources page is going to have a lot of the links. I am thinking about breaking up this page into several sub-pages to make a submenu.
I am probably going to turn the contact page into the landing page. It checks all the boxes for that part of the rubric, even though I don't think that would be how a real site would work.
Adding the social media links, the copyright and credit to the footer still needs to be done.
I originally tried a theme that looked like it was geared for therapists, but it didn't have too many options and didn't look like it was very popular. I defaulted to a theme that I used during class instead of spending too much more time just looking for a theme.
I find that I run into the same problem making this website as I do with many other projects. Just figuring out what I want to put down on the page and how I want to do it takes more time than the actual doing. Having a lot of copy and ideas ready to go from someone that has been looking into making her own webpage has been a huge time saver.
