This is year 3 since I planted my own little orchard. This was the first year that I was able to get apples from any of them and it has me really looking forward to the years to come.
Dolgo
This actually is not the very first year I have gotten apples from my Dolgo apple tree. Last year I didn’t pull All of the blossoms off in the spring, so I did get a small taste last year. This year I was able to harvest about 13 pounds!
Zestar!
I am note sure how many Zestar! apples I got this year. I am not too disappointed though! The reason I don’t know is because I spent about 3 weeks eating fresh apples straight from the tree! Each evening I would pick a few more to bring with me to work the next day. If I had to guess, I would say it was probably 10-15 pounds
Red Duchess/Duchess of Oldenburn
My Red Duchess tree also produced about 13 pounds of apples. I mixed the red duchess and crabapples together for apples sauce with a little extra cinnamon. Ended up with 13 pints.
Red Baron
My Red Baron was really kicking them out. I had 33 pounds! Most were made into apple slices and frozen for making pies.
